ECF Pay to play fee

Bronze or none members of the English Chess Federation (ECF) pay an additional £7.50.


  • Entries received after Tuesday 24 March 2020, if accepted, will require additional £5 late entry fee.
  • Entries received after 18:00 Friday 27 March 2020, if accepted, will require additional £10 'On the day fee'.


  • In all sections of both events players will be paired using Swiss-Manager. Pairings will be posted at and at the venue. No discussion will be entered into concerning the pairings.
  • Nobody gets knocked out and players are expected to play all seven rounds (unless a half-point-bye is requested at time of entry). Note that if you request a bye in rounds 6 or 7 it will get zero points.
  • If a player needs to leave early, please inform the controllers prior to leaving or upon your arrival if possible.


  • The January ECF Rapidplay Grading List will be used to determine a player's grade. For players who do not appear in the Rapidly List, other lists may be used at the discretion of the organisers. Ungraded players must provide evidence for the organisers to assess their playing strength and any previous known grade must be declared.
  • Grading Information - It is a condition of entry that players agree to their grading information being published on the ECF website.
